The Darkroom Society Case Study
About The Darkroom Society
The Darkroom Society is a luxury, fine art photography gallery that sells custom printed photography through its website, a Shopify store.
Project Overview
I was hired as a consultant to audit their digital business and increase revenue. I learned how to use Shopify and leveraged AI to add custom CSS to improve the product pages, optimize meta data for SEO and increase average order value by adding the ability to add custom frames, complete with color swatches. I added GA4 tracking pixels, set up custom conversion events and launched paid ad campaigns on Google Ads, Meta and Pinterest.
Achievements
I used Coupler.io to create an AI agent that pulls daily performance metrics from paid ad platforms into spreadsheets, and then built performance dashboards and reporting to share with the team on Google Looker Studio.
I created video ad templates on CapCut to quickly create ad variants to test on Meta Ads and used RunWayML to bring their iconic static photographs to life with animation.
I created a prompt library and Claude project folders to establish a consistent brand voice for their different content requirements: organic social posts, blog posts and product descriptions. I also leverage SurferSEO to optimize all of the existing products and images on the store.
Impact
Sales Revenue in Q1 2026 is pacing to be more than 3x higher than the previous Jan, with a 1.4x ROAS based on just last-click attribution. The client has increased monthly budgets by 10x since campaigns launched such is the confidence in the positive impact on sales and ROI.
